Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Reviews

Presented at the last Mobile World Congress, Xperia Arc differs from the other Android smartphone by his (very) big screen… but also a few new releases by Sony Ericsson. Discover the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc test.
More : Big, beautiful screen, superb integration of Android, pleasant to use, fast, radio FM, good autonomy
Less : photo quality average, smoothing the pixels photo too
Out of its box, Sony Ericsson Xperia rather long Arc like mobile. Normal, it boasts a superb capacitive screen of 4.2 inches in diagonal (almost 11 cm!) displaying a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels.
However, it is smaller than a Nokia E7 or obviously iPhone 4. It takes its name from the curve form, enhanced by its lid. As already on the range of the Xperia (including X 10), fans and neophytes in smartphones are surprised.
Fans who know that the Xperia traditionally run on Android have trouble seeing the Google mobile OS, both ergonomics, GUI or functions system… to a lambda Google Phone. Novices are also surprised and seduced, because the user is “taken by the hand” at the start of the smartphone.
Between user guide, regular tips displayed in pop-ups or the page of advice, not need to be a technology to control a few hours.
IOS boasts intuitive ergonomics, Android sauce Sony Ericsson (Gingerbread) 2.3.2 is a formidable opponent, probably one of the best. Thus the Timescape application merges the SMS/MMS conversations or Facebook etTwitter articles/publications. A lightweight scroll of the thumb allows to browse quickly and easily these different items.
The electronic part remains interesting but second plan, to the truth. Of course, under the hood are found unsurprisingly, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz processor, supported by 512 MB of RAM. The manufacturer has had the good idea to provide a map with a capacity of 8 GB microSD, in addition to the 512 MB of internal memory.
More exotic, the 8 megapixel Exmor sensor produces pretty average shots in the final. the fault to an excessive smoothing of the pixels to remove the noise. On the screen of the Sony Ericsson Xperia arch, one discerns nothing but on a large screen, it meets the eye. In addition, the zoom is very limited. It doesn’t work or the resolution of 8 Megapixels, or 6 Mpx. Need therefore merely the definition 2 megapixels to produce images with digital zoom.
However appreciate the different view modes (landscape, portrait, against day…) and the automatic recognition of faces. The LED flash is powerful enough. In video mode, the smartphone can mount up to a definition of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD Ready). Preinstalled applications, can welcome the presence of “Media Server” to broadcast your MP3 or videos to a PC Touchnote for sending real postcards (with a resulting front of one of your photo and a customizable back).
Finally, despite the activated WiFi, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc offers a good autonomy of 3/4 days.
