For 2.0, it will have to wait with the Droid. Also, the interface is very similar to the HTC Hero example, apart from the home page.

With its team of engineers, the American manufacturer has developed a special home page, based on widgets in XML.
Through this interface, users can scan in real time changes in the most popular social networks (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter), new emails arrived in the box or follow the news feeds.

Unlike other platforms, this information is automatically aggregated through Motoblur. Once registered, the service gathers your various accounts (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace …), your e-mail and RSS subscriptions on the servers from Motorola.

For each update status, new event, incoming message (to push), the Motorola Dext the display on the screen immediately.

In addition, you can easily share photos on Facebook, MySpace, Picasa or Photobucket. Moreover, Motoblur to locate a remote Dext lost or stolen and possibly erase its data OTA (Over The Air distance).

They will be synchronized later. The pictures are automatically pinpointed using GPS, but proved of average quality, despite the 5 megapixel sensor. The lack of flash does not allow photos in dim light.

Side office, all events can be merged into a personal calendar Google Calendar or professional (Microsoft Exchange). The contacts follow the same procedure. Without being revolutionary, the sophistication are proving very valuable for members of different social networks, seeking to be always on top.

The hardware specifications are less flattering. The Motorola Dext is relatively heavy and massive. The alphanumeric keypad slide is not an excuse. Moreover, despite its size, some keys are missing (Ctrl …) while the mini cross navigation appears redundant.

With a “small” screen 3.1 inch capacitive, one would have hoped a few days of autonomy instead of “short day” far from an outlet. For now, the Motorola Dext is distributed exclusively in the operator Orange.

Plus : exclusive Motoblur Service (social networks, synchronization, information retention, location, remote wipe …), display of main social networking page, QWERTY keyboard fairly comfortable home, jack 3.5.
Less : Self miserable photo sensor means, without flash, alphanumeric keyboard incomplete.
